Today at E3 2008, honcho Yoichi Wada took the stage to announce Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360. Yes, he announce Final Fantasy XIII is coming to Xbox 360 in Europe and North America (no Xbox 360 version for folks in Japan).
Such a most disappointed thing for today. PS3 fanboys who get PS3 because of FF XIII may have cry. I’m not Sony fanboy but as I have read many gaming magazine Square Enix promise that FF XIII is exclusively for PS3. They threw away a promise for something called ‘profit’.
I think Sony might have some plan to revenge Microsoft (one of them is HOME). And for some who didn’t knows what happen then see this

I wonder if Home is going to really be able to hurt MS… on another note I wonder if losing exclusivity of FF is going to really hurt Sony.
Final Fantasy is not as big as one would imagine in the US, it was huge some time ago, but probably not anymore.
Plus I was reading that FF will release in Japan first on PS3 and then after some time on 360… so it wont even help MS that much with the Japanese market that they are still trying to crack…
Sure, its a big deal that FF is on 360 — but maybe its just that it seems to demonstrate that “exclusive” doesnt exist anymore, now that games cost $30+ just to develop (and a lot more if you factor in marketing)…
