I’ve read an interesting post on Gizmodo. When I came to think about it, what they said are quite true. Here is how it is:
First, what’s wrong with gaming PC? The answer would be NO, nothing’s wrong with it. But the thing is average person won’t be able to afford a huge, full-tower, high-end gaming PC. And there are many game console that could play a high-end graphic game with a reasonable price (such as Xbox 360, PS3). So why go crazy with 2 grand for a gaming PC? When most people could spend less than $500 to gaming.
Second, game sales are gone hill. With the increasing sales of console games. PC game sales are down by 14% (according to NPD) last year. And this year? Even worse.
Third, cheaper gaming laptop. Though, it’s not a high-end but with more affordable price and better specs than in past, it could get most of the job done. And people could spends money for a game console if they are serious with gaming. Personally, I like laptop better than desktop, why? ‘cuz laptop basically came with everything that I need for basic gaming (though I can’t play high-end games on high setting).
Fourth, online capability. Try to think back about 2 or 3 years ago, when neither xbox 360 nor ps3 has come out. It’s damn fun to play Half-Life, counter strike, or whatever that you could play it with others. Only PC could do that, but not anymore. Things started to change when you can play online with your friends with your console and not PC (don’t count WoW).

I still remember that I was really hyped with gaming PC in past like 5 years or something. Alienware used to be my most wanted thing. But it turned out to be that Alienware is just a luxury item, just like $500 USB drive from Louis Vuitton, I could get something better and pretty much perform better than Alienware.
Many things has changed in reverse way. Is it that bad? Nay, it’s not that bad. It might looks bad for some, but remember not everything is bad, it does have a good side in it. Just that, do you notice it or not?

I’m not much of a gamer, but whatever platform gets the most JRPGs is the platform that I’ll be happy with.
