Bye-bye Vista and hello Windows 7

win-98-to-win-7

It’s been so long since Windows 7 has floated around the internet in Beta and RC form. About few days ago (as I can recall), Microsoft has released Windows 7 RTM (release to manufacturing) final build version. I didn’t seem to care much at that time but I’ve heard from many people said “Windows 7 is better than Vista”, so I decided to upgrade, of course not gonna clean install it, and experiencing the greatness of such a gem Windows 7. The result I got is as expected and just like others said “It’s much better than Vista”.

The UI (user interface) is pretty much the same as Vista but with some improvement. Taskbar aka. bar-at-the-bottom is much more powerful and more user-friendly (though it needs sometime to figure out how it works). Quick-lunch will be no more on this Windows, but just like Mac OS X that you can drag your favorite shotcut or program you like and pin it down there (pretty convenience). There’s also a feature called Aero Peek which it does give ability, when you hover on it, to look through all windows (if you’re multi-task person like me), transparent all any other windows, and brings the right window that you’re looking for. Not convinced? Read the full review at Engadget. You’re welcome.

There are many things that change and improved, such as MS Paint and calculator for example. Windows 7 can guarantee that you won’t be bored every again. Because you might have a problem with software compatibility and probably leave you confuse on how stuff on 7 works, such a headache. However, so far, I don’t have any problem with 7 a lot except my sound card driver needs to be update and alcohol 120% magically unworkable (only virtual drive feat).

Yeah, as you might curious, this is another episode of The Review. But because of my laziness I’m not gonna make a full review here. Yup, you can throw your complains at me, I’ll take them.

Nevertheless, if you interest in full review you can see it here and here. You’re welcome, again. Now if you excuse me, I’ll enjoy myself with my fresh Windows 7.

    Interesting wallpaper ^^;

    Sounds cool. Haven’t tried Vista at all as I’m still in XP era. Hope compatibility is not so much of a problem as I play a lot of older games. Might jump into 7 the next time I buy a new computer.
